Professional Eye Care

Primesight Opticians provide Private, NHS, and Home Visit Eye Examinations.
For Home Visit Eye Care, phone 01502 341078 to request for Home Visit Eye Tests, please.
The importance of an eye examination cannot be overstated. Not only can we tell if you need spectacles, but also we can tell the state of your eye health. By looking through your pupils with special instruments, we are able to see the retina; the back layer of the eye. Conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes can sometimes be detected through changes in the retina.
The lens of the eye which sits behind the Iris (the coloured part of the eye), is where a cataract can develop as we get older. This can lead to reduced sight and increased glare effect to the eyes.

Primesight Opticians are also able to detect glaucoma, a condition that gradually affects your sight. You may not be aware of any changes until the advanced stages. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a common cause of reduced sight in senior citizens. We recommend an eye examination every 2 years, but certain conditions as mentioned above, and children should be seen more regularly as-needed basis. If you experience any problems prior to your eye test, contact Primesight Opticians and make an appointment for a check-up. There is no additional charge on Fundus Photography or Optical Coherence Tomography Scan for customers who purchase spectacles from us.

Primesight Opticians are dedicated to keeping you in focus to achieve clear vision. We provide an extensive range of frames from value-for-money to designers. They are distinctive, fashionable and make a statement, but most of all they are wearable. We also provide a selection of frames completely free with an NHS Optical Voucher.

Your choice of lens is just as important as choosing your frames. As independent opticians, Primesight Opticians provide a large choice of lens designs from quality suppliers.

Multifocal Lenses

If you need spectacles to improve close-up and distant vision, one option is to have 2 pairs of spectacles, but this can be both inconvenient and frustrating.

Bifocals will enable you to see clearly in the distance and close up, with a line separating the two prescriptions.

Varifocals/Progressive Lenses can avoid the restrictions of bifocals to some extent. These lenses are a complete vision at all distances and are cosmetically appealing as there is no dividing line or segments. At Primesight Opticians, our varifocals are from the best quality manufacturers. This is the reason that we are able to provide you with a 30-day product assurance. If for any reason you cannot get on with your varifocals, Primesight Opticians promise to replace them for either a pair of bifocals or a separate pair of reading or distant spectacles.
